Public health activists and vapers alike today breathe a sigh of relief, as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), just announced a new comprehensive plan for tobacco and nicotine regulation, under which the much disputed PreMarket Tobacco Applications (PMTA), will be delayed until 2022.

“The substantial increase in e-cigarette use among US adult smokers was associated with a statistically significant increase in the smoking cessation rate at the population level”, said the latest study published on BMJ.

The directive, which came into effect in May of last year, is a part of the TPD's aim to further reduce tobacco consumption across EU member states, thereby cutting down on those combustion-related diseases that we are forever reminded of on our cigarette boxes.
